Virtual Vocal Performance Intensive

Being a singer requires so much more than a voice and an ability to carry a tune. There are many skills that can help in the process of honing your voice to be the best it can be. Join us at DMR this summer for a week long vocal intensive to develop skills such as: music theory, practice techniques, piano skills, and learning new repertoire. A variety of music will be selected for students to perform in a virtual showcase at the end of the week.

There will be a combination of private training, small group training and large group training.

The emergence of musical theatre as a popular form of performance was widely attributed to the composer/lyricist duo, Rodgers and Hammerstein, who came onto the Broadway scene in the early 1940s. This duo, along with other musical theatre trailblazers, ignited what is now known as the Golden Age of Broadway musicals. The musicals of this era offered audiences a new perspective on the changing world they were living in and redefined the theatre community. Many of these beloved musicals remain stage favorites and continue to appear on Broadway in the form of revivals.

Hours are Monday -Friday, 1:00PM-5:00PM
There will not a live performance, but a video performance will be created and streamed at a date and time to be announced.

Registrants who select the "Virtual option" will attend camp via Zoom technology. Students will receive online instruction and will take several breaks and complete some assignments offline. Please make sure you have something on which your child can record themselves.
